recession, according to economists.
Claudia Sahm, chief economist for New Century Advisors, warned that while the economy still shows some forward momentum, the recent volatility has made the outlook more fragile.
“A recession means things are not just slowing down, but going in reverse,” she said.
The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) continue to monitor key indicators, including quarterly GDP growth, as they assess the nation’s economic health.
The conflict in the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted global energy markets, sending oil prices soaring and raising concerns about inflation and supply chain stability.
