U.S. Gasoline Prices May Face Repercussions

·

The White House is concerned that if U.S. gasoline prices do not drop to $3 per gallon, it could trigger serious consequences. Semafor notes that within the Trump administration, there are no illusions regarding how voters will perceive the fuel market situation ahead of the autumn election season.
According to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price of gasoline in the U.S. stood at approximately $4.06 per gallon on April 18.
Previously, in an interview with Fox News, Trump speculated that gasoline prices might remain at their current levels—or rise slightly—prior to the election. In contrast, back in January of this year, the average price of U.S. gasoline was significantly lower, standing at just $2.81 per gallon.
