The U.S. Embassy in Iraq was attacked and caught fire. On March 17, Russia’s Sputnik News Agency reported that in the early morning of the 17th local time, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, located in the “Green Zone” of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, was attacked and facilities inside the embassy caught fire.

From the evening of the 16th to the early morning of the 17th, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq has been attacked multiple times. During the attack, the U.S. Embassy activated air defense alarms and the C-RAM counter-rocket, artillery and mortar system, successfully intercepting an incoming explosive, but it has not yet been determined whether the explosive was a drone or a rocket. The U.S. side has not made an official response to the incident so far.
